The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (a.k.a. COPPR) is the nonprofit local arts agency that serves the City of Colorado Springs and the greater Pikes Peak region (El Paso and Teller Counties) in Colorado. We work to ensure that the creative sector grows in economic vitality and depth of impact, that creative workers can thrive in our community, and that the arts are leveraged to positively address regional economic development, education, cultural tourism, and quality of life.

Sheng Wang is a comedian, actor and writer originally from Houston, TX. His first Netflix special, Sweet & Juicy, released in September 2022 and was produced and directed by Ali Wong. He was a featured stand-up on HBO’s “2 Dope Queens” special and also wrote for the ABC show “Fresh Off the Boat.” Sheng resides in Los Angeles and in his time off, he enjoys exploring botanical gardens and discovering new ways to snack. Currently on view, Sofía Gallisa Muriente’s Lluvia con nieve (2014) uses archival footage from 1955 of a US plane landing in Puerto Rico carrying two tons of snow. History Stroll: Law & Disorder + Signature Cocktail Experience

About The History Stroll On this half-mile guided stroll through downtown Colorado Springs, explore how Colorado Springs officials fought to remain a “dry town” in “wet times,” the captivating story of how the Colorado Springs Citizens Committee worked to run the KKK out of town in the 1920s, and an infamous murder case that would lead to a groundbreaking development in forensic science. We offer over 60 performances a year in our community and online, 20 of which are part of performance tours for each of our ensembles to area schools. The CSYSA actively seeks to strengthen our community offerings by also partnering with other local artistic and service groups. Your support makes a difference in the community. Your generous donation will be doubled by our matching donors, allowing students from all communities to participate in our programs and its partnerships with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Colorado Springs School District 11, and the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale. Through Music, We are One. We are the most comprehensive instrumental music program for youth in this part of the country. Our mission compels us to provide for artistic development through high quality, diverse music experiences that enrich the cultural environment of local, national and international communities. The Mozart Strings Project, an outreach program for beginning string players, is offered in school districts where there are no string programs. The Youth Symphony plays for thousands of children and adults yearly, focusing on audiences that have limited exposure to live orchestral music.
