In the winters of 2018, 2019 and 2020, Peak Arts Prize funded inspiring arts projects in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado that amplified the arts to new audiences. Its unique program design expanded access to the local Fund for the Arts to local arts nonprofits, creative businesses, and individual artists, pulling the most diverse applicant pool in the Fund’s history. The program energized public interest in local arts & culture through its engaging video applications, People’s Choice voting process, and vibrant finalists and winners. Peak Arts Prize was a program of the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, powered by Fund for the Arts, a fund of the Pikes Peak Community Foundation (PPCF).
PEAK ARTS PRIZE IS NOT RETURNING IN 2021.
Given the evolving needs of the local arts community during the COVID-19 pandemic, and new opportunities emerging in 2021, the Cultural Office and PPCF are redesigning their approach to the Fund for the Arts. The new approach will build upon the successes of Peak Arts Prize and continue to support local arts in the spirit of the Fund’s benefactor, Edith Ellyas. More information will be announced in mid-2021.
