Peak Arts Prize is a broad-based community contest to support great local art projects that grow arts audiences. Funding comes from The Fund for the Arts, a fund of the Pikes Peak Community Foundation.
The Cultural Office debuted Peak Arts Prize in winter 2018 as a dynamic new program to allocate several, small grants. Through its fresh approach, the Cultural Office is excited to be able to extend The Fund for the Arts’ resources to new recipients – like galleries and individual artists – offering broader support to our diverse arts & cultural ecosystem. The video application process offers a fresh perspective on the creatives in our community, allowing applicants to shine in a different way than in a traditional grant application. And, the contest format adds a new transparency, visibility, and public investment into the distribution of this local arts funding. Peak Arts Prize’s goals are to “Support Great Art,” “Inspire Fresh Ideas,” and “Grow Audiences.”
