Join Melissa O’Rear, COPPR’s Program Manager of Education, and Paula Hergert, Policy and Prevention Specialist at El Paso County Public Health for an interactive introduction to the new “Addressing Trauma through the Arts” toolkit—featuring 30 arts-based strategies designed to foster regulation, relationship, and resiliency for children and youth.
 

In this 1-hour “lunch & learn” session, we’ll explore how brain development is impacted by toxic stress and discover practical, science-backed arts approaches that support healing and growth. Through hands-on participation, you’ll experience the benefits firsthand and leave empowered to bring these tools to your own circles—knowing their positive impact and proven effectiveness.

Developed by The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPR) in partnership with El Paso County Public Health and local arts educators, this toolkit accompanies a series of local trainings for educators and teaching artists. Learn about the whole series here.

Registration is free, but required to attend, with an option for a $15 boxed lunch.
