What: Arts & Economic Prosperity: The Economic Impact of Arts and Culture Organizations and Their Audiences in the Colorado Springs Metro Area

The study, titled Arts & Economic Prosperity, is part of the most comprehensive economic impact study of the nonprofit arts and culture industry ever conducted in the United States. The national study was conducted in 182 communities and regions including the Colorado Springs metro area.51 nonprofit arts organizations in El Paso County were among the 9,721 arts organizations surveyed nationwide. In addition, 650 patrons of local arts events were surveyed throughout 2011 about their event-related spending at local restaurants, hotels, etc.ย Among key findings, the report will show:
– Total economic impact by local nonprofit arts organizations and their audiences.
– Total jobs generated by local nonprofit arts organizations and their audiences.
– Total annual attendance at arts and culture events in greater Colorado Springs.
– The impact of arts on tourism
