Visit Colorado Springs Board Appoints New Director from Cultural Office

The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region andย Visit Colorado Springsย have worked in close partnership for many years to support and grow cultural tourism in our community. One of the importantย  ways that the organizations are mutually supportive is through Board service. In 2021, Visit Colorado Springs has appointed Cultural Office Deputy Director, Angela Seals, to sit on its Board of Directors. Seals’ voice will represent the Cultural Office and the broader creative sector’s value to tourism.

“Cultural tourism is a vibrant part of our local economy and a key audience for our arts community,” Seals says. “I have so much respect for the excellent leadership of Visit COS and I look forward to supporting their work and connecting more deeply with my tourism colleagues during my time on the Board of Directors.” Seals has coordinated with Visit Colorado Springs on multiple marketing campaigns, and served on its marketing committee for 5 years. She also currently serves on the City of Colorado Springs Lodging & Automobile Rental Tax (LART) Advisory Committee, which supports local tourism and economic development.

She is the second Cultural Office staff member to serve on the Board in recent years.ย  Executive Director, Andy Vick, served for a full two-term span of 6 years, including 1 year as Vice Chair, along with service on multiple Board committees. Vick’s term ended in December 2020.

โ€œIโ€™ve really enjoyed my service on the VCOS Board of Directors, and have been honored to represent our local arts & cultural sector amongst the broader tourism community,” says Vick. “With our Deputy Director, Angela, joining the VCOS Board this January, Iโ€™m excited that we will be able to maintain the ongoing, close collaboration between our two organizations.โ€
