The Jeremy Facknitz Band with Hakken Krax Howl
Presented by Loft Music Venue and Theater at The Loft Music Venue and Theater Colorado Springs, CO
Jeremy Facknitz has been delighting audiences with his brand of high-energy theatrical folk-rock-jazz for nearly 30 years. He's a 3-time finalist in the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Competition at Kerrville Folk Festival (Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle and Nanci Griffith are TWO time finalists), and he's been able to make performing his "day-job" for the last 10 years by taking his show on the road in the U.S. and Canada. Heavily influenced by Billy Joel, James Taylor, Elvis Costello and Ben Folds, his music is a "throwback" to when singer-songwriters weren't afraid to turn it up loud, look you in the eye and play more than the same tired four chords. He embodies the soul of an old-time troubadour, bitten by a radioactive rockstar. Tonight is a rare chance to hear his music with the full 6 piece band consisting of David Siegel (violin, Grass It Up), Ricky Sweum (sax), Mike Kimlicko (bass, Treo), Brad Plesz (drums, Treo) and John Standish (keys). Jeremy quips, "It's like tying my songs to the front of a runaway freight train." John Apice of American Highways says "This is all far above the ordinary... A good time is guaranteed for all" while John Barlass writes "Jeremy Facknitz is, indeed, a major talent โ and, I can guarantee, like nothing youโll have ever heard before." Hakken Krax Howl is a husband-and-wife acoustic duo who just really love making music that feels like something. Their sound is rooted in raw nostalgia, heartfelt harmonies, and the kind…

Iam Tongi
Presented by Phil Long Music Hall at Bourbon Brothers at Phil Long Music Hall at Bourbon Brothers Colorado Springs, CO
For Iam Tongi, music is about transformation โ and it always has been. Tongi learned to sing from his father, who in turned had learned from his father before him. By 13 Tongi had played his first show, but after moving to Seattle a few years later โ and losing his father in 2021 โ he nearly gave music up completely. His mother secretly signed him up for American Idol, and after Tongiโs viral audition performance of James Bluntโs โMonstersโ became one of American Idolโs all time emotional highlights, he went on to win Season 21, making history as the first Pacific Islander to ever win the show. His new music marks a creative transition leaning into his cultural heritage and musical roots โ but also the man heโs become. ย This calendar listing is brought to you by Peak Radar, the Pikes Peak region's one-stop, online website for arts and entertainment events, powered by the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region.
