Three DaysCOPPeR will host its nextย AIR:Shiftโ„ข Workshop over the weekend of January 22-24 at the Pikes Peak Community College Campus in Downtown Colorado Springs. A program of the Arts Incubator of the Rockies (AIR), the Shiftโ„ข Workshop is an entry point into a community of exchange, support and development fueled by a powerful curriculum. Skilled facilitators lead small groups through hands-on exercises, bringing together emerging and established creatives with business professionals for a sustained, collaborative learning experience. In 2016, COPPeR will once again lead the local effort of a national research study, Arts & Economic Prosperity Study 5 (AEP5), in partnership with Americans for the Arts. This study, conducted every 5 years, measures the economic impact and vitality of our nonprofit arts & cultural sector in the Pikes Peak region. Full participation from the arts community is critical to the study’s success. At the end ofย 2015, COPPeR Board members Gary Bain, Lara Garritano, and Deb Muehleisen all completed their terms of service. Please join us in thanking them for their “time, talent and treasure” over the years in support of COPPeR’s important mission in our community!

  • Congratulations to Ent Federal Credit Union, a finalist for the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) Philanthropy Award in 2016! Each year, COPPeR nominates a winner from our local Business & Arts Lunch to be recognized at the state level – and we are thrilled that this year, our own Philanthropy Award winner is a finalist for state recognition of their generous support for the UCCS Ent Center for the Arts!
  • The 18th Annual Art on the Streets public art exhibition announced its newest Call for Artists.
  • Latino Life” is a new live radio program in Colorado Springs hosted by Joe Barrera. Tune in online at www.kcmj.org from 5-6 PM each Monday.
  • Plectraphone Records, of Western Jubilee Recording Company, announced that one of its albums has been nominated for a Grammy for Folk Album of the Year by the National Academy of Arts & Sciences! Congrats to all involved with the album, Norman Blake’s Wood, Wire & Words.
