COPPeR Board of Directors ring in a New Year of Leadership!
COPPeR would like to extend our warmest appreciation to all of the outgoing members of our dedicated Board of Directors who are completing their terms of service: Kevin Johnson, Cyndi Parr, Mike Selix, Jenny Stafford and Joshua Waymire. After 6 years of service and 3 years as our most recent Board President, we also want to say a very special “thank you” to Jenny Stafford for her leadership and dedication to our non-profit organization and to the creative community here in the Pikes Peak region!
We’re also very excited to announce that COPPeR’s next Board President will be local arts champion, Herman Tiemens! In addition, five new Directors have been named to the COPPeR Board for 2015. Please join us in welcoming:

- The Downtown Colorado Springs Creative District celebrated Small Business Saturday by welcoming shoppers to its many galleries, including new pop-up galleries Acineau Gallery and Spinning Plate Gallery. - Colorado Gives Day broke all previous records by raising $26.2 million for 1,677 nonprofits in 24 hours on December 5. Participating this year were Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Concrete Couch, COPPeR, KCME 88.7FM, Pikes Peak Library District and Rocky Mountain Arts Association (Out Loud Men’s Chorus). (12/5)
- The Pioneers Museum unveiled a new “3D Light Show Spectacular” on its historic facade. The new technology uses 4.3 billion animated pixels projected on a 1 billion+ Candlepower Panasonic Projector. (12/12)
- The Colorado Springs Conservatory and Pikes Peak Library District Library 21c surprised local cultural icon Peggy Shivers by each naming rooms in her honor. - The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center broke its box office records with ticket sales for Mary Poppins and extended the run through Jan. 11. (12/19)

January Sustainability Breakfast: “State of the Arts”
Join Peak Alliance for a Sustainable Future for the first Sustainability Breakfast of the new year! This breakfast will focus on the state of arts and culture in our community. Speakers at this breakfast will be: Natalie Johnson – Executive Director of the Manitou Art Center, Daisy McConnell – Director of the UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art (GOCA), and Andy Vick – Executive Director of the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPeR). The gathering will be held on Wednesday January 14, from 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. in the Bristol Pub at the Ivywild School located at 1604 S. Cascade Avenue in Colorado Springs. Free & open to the community. No need to RSVP – just come!
Growing Partnership with the Pikes Peak Lodging Association
This past year, COPPeR established an exciting new relationship with the Pikes Peak Lodging Association (PPLA) to help grow cultural tourism by sharing more information about the arts with our region’s hospitality sector. Did you know that every week we assemble highlights from events listed on PeakRadar.com to create the “Peak Radar Lodging Picks” which is then distributed through PPLA to hotels throughout the region? Check it out here! This weekly program will continue in 2015.
