Angela Seals Named Interim Executive Director
Dear Cultural Office Community,
Recently, we shared with you that a leadership change was in process at the Cultural Office, with Andy Vick departing as executive director. In order to ensure a seamless runway as the Board determines the long-term plan for this role, we have invited former deputy director of COPPeR, Angela Seals, to step in as interim executive director, effective immediately.
We believe Angela is ideal to serve in this capacity, not only because of her experience with the Cultural Office, but also her commitment to and passion for our cultural community and her demonstrated strategic vision for the role the Cultural Office plays as advocate, convener, and leader for the sector. Angela’s numerous contributions to COPPeR over nine years on staff have made her an invaluable and recognized leader across the region.
Angela will begin right away to oversee all of the work of the Cultural Office and work closely with the Board and staff on fulfilling the interim executive director responsibilities. You will hear from her in the coming days as she begins this work. We are grateful to have Angela’s depth of expertise, considerable talent, and vision. Along with the capable and committed support of the staff, the work of the Cultural Office will not only continue, but flourish.
As always, we are especially thankful for the special role you all play in our community and look forward to continuing to work alongside you in advocating for, promoting, and supporting the strong, vital, and critical arts and culture sector that help define this region’s character and identity.
All of our best for a peaceful holiday season filled with artistic and cultural traditions and experiences, and a very Happy New Year.
Holly Flores, Chair
