The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (a.k.a. COPPR) is the nonprofit local arts agency that serves the City of Colorado Springs and the greater Pikes Peak region (El Paso and Teller Counties) in Colorado. We work to ensure that the creative sector grows in economic vitality and depth of impact, that creative workers can thrive in our community, and that the arts are leveraged to positively address regional economic development, education, cultural tourism, and quality of life.

'I'm Carl Lewis!'

Join us in celebration of Black History month in partnership with Peak Education for a screening of I'm Carl Lewis! In a record-breaking career spanning 18 years, Lewis won nine Olympic gold medals across four Games and was voted “Sportsman of the Century” by the International Olympic Committee. Yet Lewis refused to be pigeonholed and, in doing so, he both revolutionized his sport and inspired cultural change. Almost 30 years on, Lewis’s legacy has failed to match his incredible success on the track. I’m Carl Lewis! delves into the consequences of his uncompromising drive, featuring unseen archive and Lewis talking openly about his extraordinary life, for the first time in a feature documentary. Paizley Park - A Tribute to Prince

Paizley Park is a no-compromise tribute to one of the best-selling artists of all time. Created by Phillip Lamar—whose vocals and stage presence closely mirror Prince—the band was built with obsessive attention to detail, from studying live performances to recreating every musical and visual nuance. Formed in January 2016, the band gained rapid momentum after Prince’s passing just four months later. Featuring top-tier musicians, multiple costume changes, precise choreography, and spot-on arrangements, Paizley Park faithfully recreates Prince and The Revolution at their peak. The result is a powerful, immersive experience that transports audiences straight back to the Purple One’s legendary live shows. 'Raw, Concrete'

The Brutalist Movement of the 1950s-1980s got its name in part from the French phrase béton brut—”raw concrete”. It inspired artists and architects to create works that solved societal ills: income inequality, housing and food shortages, and political instability in the wake of two world wars. Their achievements still sing through the decades in the forms of public housing design, modular furniture, and bold, legible typefaces. Adornment was eschewed, but beauty was not...the woodgrain texture of plywood formwork is still visibly embedded in concrete surfaces, rust is allowed to express its nature, glass is not just a window but a portal uniting inside and outside, and paint is applied with no intention of illusion. February’s call invited artists to create works influenced by Brutalism, showing us pure materials, utility and economy, and a message—either literal or implied—that what the world needs now is authenticity, raw and concrete.
